Dr. Richard K. Burt is the Chief of the Division of Immunotherapy at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine, where he pioneered the use of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation to treat autoimmune diseases. He has performed the first autologous stem cell transplants for numerous conditions including multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, Crohn's disease, and type 1 diabetes. Scientific American recognized him among the top 50 people improving humanity, and The Economist highlighted his MS research.
